    Eugenia Addy

    Chief Executive Officer

    Dr. Eugenia Addy is a scientist, educator, and systems-level leader working at the intersection of STEM, community, and long-term change. As CEO of Visions of Science, she has grown the organization from a grassroots initiative into a nationally recognized leader expanding access to meaningful STEM pathways. With over 20 years in the nonprofit and community space, and more than a decade with Visions, she brings strengths in strategic leadership, partnership development, and mobilizing resources to turn ambitious ideas into reality. She is driven by a belief that brilliance exists everywhere, and works to build systems that recognize and invest in it. She contributes to the sector through board leadership, public speaking, and advisory work, while navigating leadership alongside motherhood and family life.     Turfah Tabish

    Chief Operating Officer

    Turfah is an operations strategist and systems thinker committed to driving positive social change that empowers communities. She brings over 15 years of cross-sector experience strengthening organizational effectiveness through data-driven strategy, drawing on her background in physics and mathematics. Over more than a decade with Visions, she has built the systems, processes, and structures that underpin the organization’s growth and expanding national presence. As COO, she leads operations and strategic initiatives, translating vision into coordinated action. She is inspired by her team and motivated by the opportunity to grow and support the people she works alongside. Beyond her role, she mentors sector leaders, serves on nonprofit boards, and facilitates adaptive sports programs promoting inclusion for all athletes.

    Yi Lu

    Sr. Manager, Team & Culture

    Yi is an educator who has spent the last decade growing alongside Visions. Since starting as a facilitator in 2015, she has worked in nearly every area of the organization, from program delivery to operations. Today, she leads Team and Culture, using her unique lens to build internal systems that protect and empower staff. Yi is driven by the link between internal culture and community impact, prioritizing equitable HR practices. She loves that Visions lives its values and treats culture as an evolving entity, constantly adapting to meet the needs of its passionate team.

    Coordinator, Team & Culture

    Abdishakur is an HR professional dedicated to building people-centred systems that support employee success.     Natalie Hochoy

    Executive Office Administrator

    Natalie acts as a strategic architect for team culture, designing high-impact experiences that keep the organization energized and aligned. She brings a bias for clarity and sharp execution to ensure smooth operations and meaningful impact for youth. Natalie is moved by the consistency and hope that the organization provides to children and caregivers. She loves working with a team that holds a deep, passionate belief in humanity and the cause.

    Kiddy Mengesha

    Sr. Director, Youth Programs

    Kiddy brings over 15 years of experience across the nonprofit, education, and community sectors, with deep expertise in strategic leadership, growth, and organizational change. Rooted in her own journey as an immigrant and shaped by her work across multiple countries and communities, her career is guided by the conviction that stronger communities begin with equitable access to education and opportunity. Prior to joining Visions, she served as an Executive Director, and led large-scale higher-education programs across five countries, and worked as a college instructor. As a coach and mentor, she consistently shapes the paths of students, young leaders, and newcomers navigating new systems and career pathways. Kiddy operates and thrives at the nexus people, access, and possibility. She is deeply passionate about her work at Visions, where STEM becomes a tool for self-determination and where values are translated into meaningful and tangible impact for the communities that need it most.

    Zenab Hassan

    Manager, Jr. Youth Programs

    Zenab works at the intersection of STEM education, youth engagement, and community impact. As the Manager of Jr. Youth Programs, she aims to create inclusive opportunities for Black and marginalized youth to explore technology and leadership. Her background spans experiential learning, community programming, and event coordination, having previously led coding and mentorship initiatives across North America and Nairobi. Zenab is most moved by watching young people begin to truly believe in themselves and find their voices. She loves working at Visions because the organization doesn’t just talk about equity; they live it every day.

    Tarek El Dana

    Manager, Sr Youth Programs

    After spending a decade in the private sector, Tarek transitioned into the social impact space as a Program Manager. He brings strong organizational skills and hands-on experience leading youth-focused programs that help underrepresented youth build career-ready skills and confidence. He’s passionate about creating meaningful experiences that support youth in developing their identity during an important stage of their lives. Tarek enjoys working at Visions because it gives him the opportunity to combine his passion for personal development with meaningful social impact, alongside a collaborative and supportive team that is deeply committed to creating lasting community impact.

    Shanyah Mark

    Coordinator, Youth Programs & Financial Supports

    Shanyah brings over ten years of nonprofit experience and a background in Child and Youth Care to Visions. Since joining as a Site Lead in Summer 2025, she has transitioned into her current role as Coordinator. Her journey is defined by mobilizing resources for community initiatives and supporting youth through culturally relevant programming. Shanyah is moved by helping youth reach their full potential during their transition to post-secondary education. She enjoys working at Visions for the endless opportunities that bring growth and the reward of seeing the next generation of STEM leaders flourish.

    Zarah Suficiencia

    Sr. Manager, Community Partnerships & Programming

    Zarah is an educator with a decade of experience in a variety of youth-centred settings. She joined Visions after being inspired by the organization’s mission at a conference in 2021. Starting as a Program Manager, she has grown into her current role, focusing on program strategy and expanding equitable access through new and existing partnerships. Zarah is moved by nurturing collaborations that amplify community impact and deepen experiences for the youth. She loves working at Visions because she is surrounded by talented, passionate individuals who consistently “show up and show out” for the communities we serve.

    Isahaq Ibrahim

    Associate Manager, Active Living

    Isahaq is a community-first leader with 7 years of experience supporting the growth and mentorship of Black and racialized youth in the city of Toronto. Drawing on his experience of STEM education and community engagement, he creates spaces where youth feel supported, confident, and curious in STEM. His journey is rooted in his own experience navigating STEM with limited access to opportunities, which drives his commitment to creating pathways he once had to find on his own. Isahaq is most moved by seeing youth grow in confidence and recognize their potential. He loves working at Visions because of the team’s shared dedication to equity and creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation.

    Tres-Von Carimbocas

    Associate Manager, Community Partnerships & Activations

    Tres-Von brings three years of professional community engagement experience and deep lived experience to his role. Having grown up in the communities Visions serves, he connects authentically with youth and parents alike, drawing on his perspective as a professional and a parent. His journey began as an Elevate STEM Camps Coordinator in 2022 before moving into Community Engagement and STEM Sparks, where he quickly became a trusted face in the community. Tres-Von is most moved by helping parents find resources to support their children’s academic and leadership journeys. He loves working at Visions because the team feels like a family working toward a mission he truly believes in.

    Tatyana Buntin

    Coordinator, Community Access

    Tatyana’s journey with Visions began as a high school volunteer with a passion for youth advocacy. She grew into a facilitator role, leading programs, and is now a Coordinator overseeing program delivery and community connections. With formal training as a community worker, she creates engaging and inclusive programs that empower the youth she serves. Tatyana is most motivated by seeing youth grow in curiosity and confidence as they discover their potential. She loves working at Visions because it allows her to combine her passion for youth development with meaningful, community-focused work alongside a committed team.

    Alejandro Audain

    Coordinator, Teen Tech Center

    Alejandro brings a deep passion for education and community development to his role, holding degrees in Sociology and Education. He is dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to build confidence and a sense of belonging through STEM. His work focuses on providing youth with the tools they need to thrive in a changing society and contribute positively to their communities. Alejandro’s favourite part of his role is connecting youth to educational experiences they might not otherwise access.     Coordinator, Curriculum and Community Access

    Nzinga brings over fifteen years of experience in community leadership and youth engagement, with a focus on designing programs that centre equity, belonging, and opportunity. She specializes in building inclusive learning ecosystems and developing culturally responsive curricula that empower young people to thrive academically, culturally, and personally. Her work is grounded in the belief that education should be accessible, affirming, and rooted in possibility. Nzinga is inspired by the moment a young person recognizes their potential.     Sandroll Rodrigues

    Associate, Programs

    Sandroll has been a pillar of the Visions community for a decade, starting as a high school volunteer. Over the years, he has held numerous roles, including facilitator, site lead, and senior manager, contributing to curriculum development and programmatic implementation. He is moved by watching the real-time progression of the youth and seeing how the organization’s work has evolved to create a deeper community impact. Sandroll loves working at Visions because it allows him to collaborate with people who share his vision of a more diverse and inclusive future for STEM.

    Desirée Sylvestre

    Director, Education & Support Networks

    Desirée Sylvestre is an educator, former classroom teacher, and researcher with over a decade of experience in STEM education. As Director of Education & Support Networks, she leads national initiatives that advance STEM equity by working closely with schools and community organizations to strengthen how STEM is taught and experienced by Black youth. She began at Visions as a Program Facilitator in Saturday STEM Clubs, later leading summer and virtual programs that deepened her work with youth and families. Desirée’s PhD research at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) focuses on justice-oriented science teaching with Black preservice teachers.

    Jawahir Mohamud

    Manager, Educational Partnerships

    Jawahir leads strategic collaborations to expand STEM access for Black and racialized youth. She has dedicated her career to strengthening partnerships and scaling impactful learning opportunities within priority communities.     Destina Mattrasingh

    Manager, Educator and Caregiver Engagement

    Destina’s role is crucial for welcoming caregiver guidance and support into youth STEM education.     Ali Raza Jafri

    Sr. Specialist, Curriculum Integration

    Syed began his journey at Visions as an Educator Engagement Intern in 2024 before becoming a program facilitator and eventually a Senior Specialist. He uses his expertise in curriculum design to ensure that Visions’ programming aligns with the Ontario curriculum while remaining inclusive and impactful. Syed is moved by collaborating with his team to rethink projects through an equitable lens. He enjoys the challenge of developing programs that reflect the perspectives of underserved communities. He loves working at Visions because he can create meaningful learning experiences that make STEM feel accessible.

    Clementine Utchay

    Specialist, Educator & Caregiver Engagement

    Clementine is focused on strengthening the systems that support youth and families. With 7 years of experience in the nonprofit sector supporting youth programs across the Greater Toronto Area, she brings a strong background in research and evaluation to support meaningful program outcomes. This perspective continues to shape how she approaches her work by centring not only youth, but also the families, schools, and communities that support them. She enjoys translating research and community insights into practical programs, workshops, and resources that support families and help create more equitable pathways into STEM for Black and racialized youth.

    Patrina Gosine

    Specialist, In-School Programming

    Patrina is a STEM educator dedicated to making science and engineering engaging, exciting, and accessible for youth. With a STEM background and nonprofit experience in education and community programming, she uses hands-on learning to build confidence and critical thinking. She is most inspired by the “breakthrough” moments when a student gains the confidence to say, “I can do this.” Patrina believes in the potential of every young person and strives to create learning spaces where they feel seen and supported. She values Visions of Science’s commitment to equity and representation, finding purpose in helping youth envision a brighter future in STEM.

    Arefa Tafawa

    Coordinator, Youth Programs

    Arefa’s connection to Visions began in 2014 as a program participant. Over the years, she transitioned from participant to youth facilitator, then program facilitator, and finally to her current role as Coordinator. With over ten years of experience in low-income communities, she is currently completing her Bachelor of Education. Arefa is most moved by building meaningful relationships with youth and witnessing their growth and achievements over time. She loves working at Visions because it allows her to merge her passion for education with a commitment to making a meaningful impact in her community.

    Nawaal has been part of the Visions community for over 10 years, transitioning from a youth participant to a Program Facilitator and Coordinator.     Sr. Development Manager, Individual Giving

    Janet focuses on strengthening individual giving and engaging the board to advance the mission of Visions of Science.     Christopher brings over seven years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and a passion for systemic change to his role at Visions.     Development Manager, Grants & Foundation Partnerships

    Janine is a community builder with extensive experience in youth mentorship, grant writing, program management, and distributing funding to support community initiatives.     Alex Mikell

    Specialist, Fundraising Operations

    Sr. Manager, Digital Content

    Camilo is a creative professional with over a decade of experience in communications and marketing. Camilo is passionate about crafting an authentic brand voice that connects deeply with youth and their communities.     Tallie brings over 11 years of expertise in digital marketing and a passion for science communication to Visions. As a creative thinker with lived experience in racialized and low-income communities, she navigated a unique STEM pathway and is committed to breaking down STEM barriers through empathetic storytelling. Her focus is on amplifying community voices and using visual strategies to share the hopes and dreams of Visions’ youth. Tallie is deeply moved by the compassion and dedication these youth show for their education and each other. She feels she has “won the lottery” working with such a kind, dedicated, and passionate team.

    Gebel Ceesay

    Specialist, Communications & Design

    Gebel joined Visions in 2024 as a part-time staff member and, through dedication and team support, moved into a full-time role in 2025. As a videographer and photographer, he focuses on capturing the essence of the organization’s programs through powerful visual storytelling. Gebel loves the unique vantage point his role provides, allowing him to witness the impact of every program firsthand. He is moved by the opportunity to capture pivotal moments in the lives of the youth. For Gebel, seeing these moments unfold makes his work deeply rewarding and meaningful.

    Emerald Bandoles

    Sr. Analyst, Evaluation & Impact

    As a Senior Analyst, Emerald strengthens data-informed systems to deepen program effectiveness and enhance long-term youth impact. A lifelong learner and community organizer, she is fueled by analyzing data and refining data models that holistically capture on-the-ground impact. She finds deep meaning in listening to youth stories and ensuring their experiences inform the organization’s evolution. Emerald loves working at Visions because it allows her to collaborate with STEM leaders and advocates to break down barriers to access. For her, Visions is a place where innovation and community engagement meet to create lasting change for youth.

    Rachel Mpofu

    Analyst, Evaluation & Impact

    Rachel is a multi-passionate analyst with a background in Biomedical Science and Environmental Management. Her journey at Visions has been multifaceted, spanning program administration, office management, event planning, and her current focus on data-driven program impact. She focuses on empowering our teams to use their data as a tool for tenacious growth. Rachel’s true north is our youth-first mission, as it represents the exact programming she wishes she’d had access to in her own early years. This connection fuels her commitment to ensuring data serves our communities as much as it informs them.

    Shahana Arulanantham

    Manager, Finance & Administration

    Shahana brings a people-centred perspective to finance, backed by over five years of experience and a unique background in Biology and Psychology. A member of the Visions community since 2016, she has held diverse roles, including volunteer, Program Facilitator, and Team & Administration Coordinator. This journey across all departments has given her a holistic understanding of the organization’s mission. Shahana loves that her role transcends numbers, allowing her to stay connected to the team and program impact. She is inspired by the organization’s growth and the shared commitment to creating equitable STEM access.

    Darren Sam

    Sr. Manager, Operations

    Darren began his journey with Visions in 2011 as a high school volunteer at a Willowridge STEM club. Over the years, he has grown through multiple roles, including Curriculum Developer, Program Facilitator, and Coordinator of Logistics. Today, he leads process optimization, capital asset management, and the organization’s digital infrastructure. Darren is moved by the “backend thinking” that empowers the entire staff to work more effectively for the youth. He loves working at Visions because of the investment made into the “tool belts” of every youth to help them achieve their educational goals.

    Naki Osutei

    Board Chair

    Naki embodies leadership rooted in presence, play, and purpose, bringing over 20 years of experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Her journey includes executive roles at TD, CIBC, and CivicAction, where she became known for building high-performing teams that drive lasting impact. In 2025, she founded PRESIQ to transform leadership development into a core business function. A recipient of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women award, Naki also serves as Executive-in-Residence at the Rotman School of Management. She is proud to lead the board in shaping a future of equitable STEM excellence.

    Robin Cory

    Vice Chair

    Robin is a strategist and coach with over 20 years of experience turning bold organizational visions into meaningful community action.
