STEM Catalyst: Expanding Reach & Access
Opening doors to STEM through accessible, community-based experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and connect youth to future pathways.
Partnering to Expand STEM Reach & Access
STEM Catalyst expands access to STEM through hands-on workshops, community events, and drop-in programs delivered in accessible, trusted spaces. In partnership with community organizations, these experiences introduce youth to STEM in ways that are engaging, relevant, and reflective of their lived realities.
From sports and STEM integration to exposure to hands-on technology, Catalyst programs spark curiosity, build foundational skills, and encourage continued participation in STEM pathways.
STEM Catalyst Programs
Community Access
Community Access Programs (Grades 3–8)
Delivered in collaboration with organizations and social housing providers, Community Access programs bring hands-on STEM directly into neighbourhood spaces. Through after-school, weekend, and summer experiences, youth build early confidence, foundational skills, and meaningful connections to mentors, setting the stage for continued engagement across the STEM pathway.

Toronto Community Housing
Through our partnership with Toronto Community Housing, we deliver year-round STEM workshops in communities across the GTA, meeting youth where they live. In addition to STEM Journey programming in select sites, we expand access to consistent, hands-on STEM learning in neighbourhood spaces. With thousands of youth living in TCH communities, this partnership ensures STEM opportunities are embedded directly within the communities we engage. Highlights include our summer partnership through their Camp Inspire program.
Active Living
Active Living Initiatives (Grades 3-5 and 6-8)
Active Living Initiatives connect sport and STEM through movement, teamwork, and design challenges. Youth explore how science, data, and engineering show up in the activities they already love, strengthening confidence, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills.

Sport & STEM (MLSE Launchpad)
Delivered in partnership with MLSE LaunchPad, Sport & STEM integrates physical activity with hands-on STEM learning through a multi-session curriculum. Youth engage in soccer, basketball, football, and hockey while exploring ecosystems, design thinking, coding, and mathematics. Each session connects movement to real-world STEM concepts, fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and a deeper appreciation for how STEM shows up in everyday life.
Community Partnerships & Activation
Working alongside grassroots organizations, schools, and community partners, Community Partnerships & Activation brings STEM into festivals, events, and public spaces. Through pop-ups, workshops, and activations, we engage youth and families, expand visibility, and build community-wide momentum around accessible, culturally relevant STEM learning.

Workshops
We collaborate with community organizations to deliver customized, hands-on STEM workshops that meet the needs of the communities they serve. From grassroots partners such as the Weston Frontlines Centre- Frontlines TO to youth-serving agencies across the GTA, these sessions introduce STEM in accessible, engaging formats while building confidence, curiosity, and awareness of future pathways.
